Overall, I have learnt new skills, and the skills I already had have been enhanced and developed dramatically throughout the making of my magazine. My ability in using Photoshop has developed the most, before I started this assignment I could hardly use the software, however now I have broad knowledge of how operate basic functions and some of the more complex operations.
Learning these functions I have been able create my own front page, content page, and a double page spread. To create these, I had to crop images, edit them, edit out the background, also I had to blur them, and lower the image’s brightness and contrasts.

I also needed to learn how to use blogger to display all of my work, this in all honestly wasn't too hard, just the use of it a few times and it was easy to remember.
I have used all of these skills that I have learnt to create my final draft for my music magazine.
Taking into consideration that my magazine is written in an explicit, profane manner I believe that the institution my magazine will be published under may be IPC, as the publish music magazines and also the produce “Nuts” which has images of an explicit nature; even though that my magazine is does not contain the same type of explicitly, it is still inappropriate for certain ages to read.
Also since that is institution produce popular music magazines such as “Q” “KERRANG!”, “NME” etc, this will give my opportunity to have my magazine build up a reputation as “NME” has been best selling for years, so if my magazine can be published by these publishers it could be a best seller, amongst the large contenders out there on the shelves.
My magazine represents rebellious teenagers, most likely the ones whose parents don’t approve of swearing, or aggressive music such as band like “Suicide Silence” or “Cannibal Corpse”. Or perhaps people whose parents where metal fans in the 70's and 80’s, and have had an influence on their children’s music taste.
However the magazine could just represent 15- 24 year old's who enjoy reading about metal artists, written in an informal and profane manner.
Also the magazine could reach out to those who are submersed in the occult or neo-paganism; and their intrest has resulted in them being ostrasized from society. This magazine could be a beacon of "hope" or to see others like them and be reassured they aren't alone. It could be a ways to a means of contacting and/or comparing themselves to others who are in the same boat.
“All Or Nothing Music” uses conventions of actual music magazines as it informs the customer about musicians and artists, gigs, festivals, albums, as well as news in the music industry, and interviews.
Another way that the magazine uses the forms and conventions of music magazines is that most magazines have pull out posters and pages featuring photo shoots, so as the customer will most likely be a teenager, they would probably want to have their bedroom walls to be covered with their favourite bands and artists. My magazine also has that which help give it a fighting chance against the more mainstream products.
The way my magazine challenges the conventions of the most popular magazines, in the way that most magazines have a sometimes overly colourful and bright colour scheme, my magazine will be attractive to the target audience; which is gothic individuals who will see the rainbow spectrum of magazines in a shop, and notice my magazine more as the dark colours of black, and red will stand out more. Since the gothic culture is typically central to the dark the colour scheme: my magazine will match their clothing, hair and make-up colours. Appealing more to them than "Q" or "NME".
The target audience is 15-24 year olds, most likely the main audience will be males as the style (heavy metal, death metal, death core etc.)
The reason my magazine will be attractive to the target audience is that most magazines are sometimes have an overly colourful, colour scheme, my magazine will be attractive to the target audience which is “metal-heads” and “Goths” who will see the rainbow spectrum of magazines in a shop, and notice my magazine more as the dark colours of black, and red will stand out more.
The colours will appeal to the target audience as it those two main colours are stereotyped to the sub culture of the "Gothic" style, the colours usually connate to darkness and blood which are themes related to sub culture of the occult ideal which are directly linked to in a derogative way isolating the younger generation and outing them as heretics to society - hopefully this magazine will give a voice to the ostracised generation.
Also the content will be written in an informal and profane style, which will entice the audience as most magazine don’t swear and talk much of drug abuse and alcoholism which a lot of stars endure. The fact that my magazine doesn't sugar coat the "emotional hell" the artists have went through will appeal to the teenagers growing up and wanting to know about the world that they've been hidden from as children; and hopefully learn from their mistakes.
